Clutter Control
How The Book Can Help You To Control Your Clutter

The first step to an organized life is to get your clutter under
control.
The book, Your Step by Step Guide to Successfully Organizing Your
Life is designed to take you successfully from a cluttered
environment to one that is under control and in order.
There are many kinds of clutter. The book will provide you with easy
to follow strategies to control the kind
of clutter that interferes with your life.
- Entire rooms that are full of clutter.
- Bring paper clutter under control.
- Clutter spots and storage areas.
- Clothing, hobby, and special interest clutter.
- Bring your cluttered time under control.
- Eliminate the clutter that slows down your computer.

A Clutter Control Strategy
One of the methods I like best to get your clutter under control is to
leave every room or area you spend time in just a bit better than when
you entered it.
With this method your clutter should be visibly melting away by the end
of a week.
Here is how it works.
You prepare a meal in your kitchen, and then eat it. You now have dishes
to clean, a table to wipe off, possible a floor to sweep or mop.
Clean up the new mess you created so that you do not add to your
clutter. Wash your dishes, wipe the table, sweep the floor.
Then progress on bringing your clutter under control by removing a few
more items from the kitchen area. You may have previously used dishes
that are creating clutter until you wash them. Wash several of them now.
Maybe there are cans from food or drinks on the counters that you can
put into recycling or the garbage. If you have paper clutter on the
counters or your table move a few items into your inbox or throw them
away.
Simply remove a few of the old items that prevent you from having your
clutter under control and then move on with your day.
In the TV room get your clutter under control by putting a few pens into
a pen holder or tossing several old newspapers or magazines before you
sit down to watch a program. If you get a fresh newspaper every day then
toss two or three old ones every day until all you have in your home or
office is the current issue.
This approach to clutter control is one of the most successful
approaches I have found.
- This method is easy to incorporate into your life.
- Rather than stop your day or week to remove clutter you continue
to take care of other responsibilities and to enjoy your life.
- This approach to clutter control starts a pattern of living that
will prevent the clutter from once again accumulating in your life.

Sentimental Items
Sentimental items bring back memories. They remind
us of the people who used them or gave them to us. They remind us of
special occasions in our lives. It is important that the items we
keep have value to us. Use discretion in what you keep.
-
Memories
If you have saved all of your baby clothes, go through them
and select one or two outfits to keep. Give the rest away to
someone who can use them.
-
Store Or Display
Store your sentimental items in a beautiful box where you
can open and enjoy them periodically. Once your home is
de-cluttered, you can create a special display area for
sentimental items.
-
Photograph Items
Take
pictures of sentimental items to keep in an album. Then donate the
items so others can enjoy them as well.
Remember that the richness, fullness, and promise of
life is in the present and the future.
Do not hold onto sentimental items that keep you
living in the past. Enjoy the people and benefits you have today.
Choose not to let things get in the way of the love you have to share with
people today.
